Sime Darby- Sime Darby to expand China operations

Sime Darby Bhd, the largest oil palm plantation company by acreage, plans to invest up to RM2 billion to expand its operations in China over the next five years, as it explores growth prospects across the global, with special focus on China.

The Group, which was exploring growth prospects across the global with special focus on China, was keen on expanding its industrial, motor, property, plantation as well as energy and utilities businesses, Sime Darby Group Chief Executive, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid said, after the group's annual general meeting (AGM) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The Group has to-date invested some RM 2 billion in the ports, water, energy, utility, refinery and bunkering businesses in China and all its operations in China have recorded strong returns.
