FDI to China registered RMB481 billion in the first five months, up by 35.4%

In the first five months of this year, 18,497 foreign-invested enterprises were established in China, up by 48.6% year on year and up by 12.4% from the same period in 2019. Paid-in foreign investment reached RMB481 billion, up by 35.4% year on year and up by 30.3% from the same period in 2019.
 
By sectors, paid-in FDI to service sector reached RMB381.9 billion, up by 41.6%. Paid-in FDIto high-tech industries grew by 34.6%, among which high-tech service industries grew by 37.6% and high-tech manufacturing industries grew by 25%.
 
By sources, investments from Belt and Road partner countries, ASEAN, and the EU grew by 54.1%, 56%and 16.8%.(investment through free trade port included)
 
By regions, paid-in investment to eastern, central, and western China grew by 37%, 36% and 10.4%.
