On December 4, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Singaporean Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong jointly held the 7th meeting of China-Singapore Bilateral Investment Promotion Committee in Beijing, where the two sides exchanged views on two-way investment, intergovernmental cooperation projects and bilateral cooperation.

Minister Wang said that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong upgraded the China-Singapore relationship to an all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership this March, setting a strategic direction for bilateral commercial relations. China stands ready to work with Singapore to implement the important consensuses by the two leaders, deepen two-way investment cooperation, step up support for intergovernmental projects such as the Suzhou Industrial Park, work toward further progress in multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements, and foster new highlights for bilateral cooperation in areas like digital economy and green economy, all in an effort to enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Minister Gan said that Singapore-China Investment Promotion Committee has played a vital role in boosting two-way investment. The two countries enjoy a broad prospect in economic collaboration. Singapore is willing to advance two-way investment cooperation with China by strengthening investment dialogue and expanding cooperation on digital economy and green economy, in a bid to achieve win-win outcomes.

The meeting was chaired by Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Ling Ji and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore Gabriel Lim.
