Vice Minister Gao Yan Jointly Presides over the 4th Conference of China-Brunei Trade and Economic Consultation with Brunei

On April 18-19, the Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan visited Brunei and jointly presided over the 4th Conference of China-Brunei Trade and Economic Consultation with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei DatoPaduka Lim Jock Hoi.
The conference reviews the trade and economic cooperation progress of both sides, proposed suggestions for further developing the trade and economic relationship of the two countries and reached extensive consensuses on jointly building the "21th Century Maritime Silk Road", energy, finance, agriculture and fishery, infrastructure, human resources, China-ASEAN FTA, capacity, cooperation of the East ASEAN Growth Area, comprehensive economic cooperation relationship agreement and the cooperation of local areas of the two countries, etc.
Both sides agreed that efforts should be made to strengthen the docking between the "Belt and Road" initiative of China and the development strategy plan of Brunei. They applauded the Bank of China Hong Kong's announcement of setting up a branch in Brunei and Brunme's approval for it. The two sides encourage their enterprises to expand investment, to enhance the infrastructure cooperation, to expand the cooperation field, to improve the cooperation level and to promote the process of regional economiccooperation.
