YANGON, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's border trade using Individual Trading Cards (ITCs) reached 9.3 billion kyats (6.7 million U.S. dollars) as of June 15 during the six-month transitional period which started in April, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Saturday.
Myanmar has changed its fiscal year period from original April-March to October-September beginning 2018-2019, producing a six-month transitional gap. During the period, the country's export value totaled 1.96 billion kyats (1.4 million U.S. dollars) while its import amounted 7.6 billion kyats (5.3 million U.S. dollars). The country's trade value with ITCs totaled 45.9 billion kyats (33 million U.S. dollars) in last fiscal year 2017-2018, according to the figures from the Commerce Ministry. A total of 1.451 ITCs have been issued by the ministry so far since FY 2012-2013. The country mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, fisheries, minerals and forest products to the neighbouring trade-partner countries while capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods are imported to the country. |
