HANOI, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam earned 836 million U.S. dollars from exporting fruits and vegetables in the first quarter of this year, posting a year-on-year decline of 10.9 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The main products witnessing the decline included dragon fruit, banana, longan, watermelon, durian and shiitake, Vietnam News Agency quoted the ministry as reporting on Monday.

During the period, China remained Vietnam's top fruit and vegetable export market with turnovers of over 300 million U.S. dollars.

Vietnam made total fruit and vegetable export turnovers of 3.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, down 1.1 percent from the previous year, according to the country’s General Statistics Office.
