​Chinese companies to tailor bullet trains for China-Laos railway

CRRC Dalian Co.,Ltd.,a subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Limited(CRRC,601766.SH),announced that it had inked a contract on Saturday to make bullet trains with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour for the China-Laos railway,reported China News Service Sunday.

According to the contract,CRRC Dalian Co.,Ltd.will form a consortium with CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co.,Ltd.,another CRRC subsidiary,to tailor the two trains ordered by Laos-China Railway Co.,Ltd.(LCRC),the joint venture in charge of the construction and operation of the China-Laos railway.

The trains are expected to be delivered in September 2021.

The China-Laos railway runs from Boten bordering China in northern Laos to the capital of Vientiane with a length of 1,000-odd kilometers.It is the first international railway with Chinese investment and construction,adopting Chinese technical standards,using Chinese equipment,and directly connecting with the Chinese railway network.It is expected to fully open to traffic by the end of 2021.
