China sees vehicle import value up 9.6 pct in Q1

China saw its vehicle import value up 9.6 percent in the first quarter of this year, hitting 13.95 billion U.S. dollars, reported Shanghai Security News on Thursday.
 
It is learned that 225,000 vehicles were imported during the same period, with a year-on-year decrease of 4.4 percent. Among them, the import volume of off-road vehicles increased slightly while that of sedans and compact cars dropped. 
 
All these three kinds of vehicles accounted for 95.6 percent of the total imports in the first quarter.
