China's Xinjiang Aksu exports local walnut meat to Iraq for first time

By:Belt and Road Portal   Update:2022-12-08
BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- A batch of Xinjiang Aksu walnut meat finished the customs clearance at the Aksu Customs office under Urumqi Customs in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Tuesday and will be exported to Iraq for the first time, reported Chinanews.com.

The smooth delivery of the 24 tonnes of walnut meat benefited from the green channel opened by local customs for local products, which greatly saved customs clearance time for the enterprises, said a manager from Aksu Ada Import and Export Co., LTD.

As a region with rich natural resources, Aksu saw a large number of walnuts and walnut meat exported to foreign countries in recent years. The local customs has actively connected with enterprises to constantly expand export channels of local agricultural products to help rural revitalization.

In the first 10 months of 2022, enterprises under the jurisdiction of Aksu customs exported more than 7,400 tonnes of walnuts and walnut meat to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Iraq and many other countries and regions.
