Vietnam's trade volume surpasses 316 bln dollars in 11 months

HANOI, Nov. 29 -- Vietnam's trade volume is estimated to stand at 316.16 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of 2016, a year-on-year increase of 5.5 percent, according to the General Statistics Office on Tuesday.
 
The figure includes some 159.5 billion dollars in exports and 156.66 billion dollars in imports, said the office.
 
From January to November, key items of Vietnam's exports include cell phones and accessories (31.3 billion dollars), garment and textile (21.5 billion dollars), electronic, computers and accessories (16.8 billion dollars), footwear (11.6 billion dollars) and machines, equipment and tools (9.3 billion dollars) among others.
 
Meanwhile, the country mainly imported machines, equipments and tools (25 billion dollars), cell phones and accessories (9.6 billion dollars), petroleum (4.2 billion dollars), chemicals (2.8 billion dollars) among others.
 
As a result, the country is set to record a trade surplus of around 2.84 billion dollars in the 11 months. Among which, the domestic sector suffered a trade deficit of 18.4 billion dollars while the foreign-invested sector enjoyed a trade surplus of 21.24 billion dollars.
 
In November alone, Vietnam expects overseas shipments of 15.6 billion dollars and imports of 16 billion dollars, representing respective monthly rises of 1.3 percent and 1 percent.
 
Total trade is expected to increase by 1.1 percent from October to around 31.6 billion dollars, according to the office.
