The 2022 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition concluded on Wednesday in Guilin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with 1.95 billion yuan (about 275.04 million U.S. dollars) worth of intended cooperation reached during the event, reported Guangxi Daily.

This year's event was held both online and offline. Divided into seven exhibition pavilions accommodating more than 1,700 booths, the offline exhibition covers a total area of 25,000 square meters. Featuring the cultural and tourism characteristics of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) members, a special RCEP-themed pavilion was set up this year.

The offline event has attracted companies and institutions of around 50 countries and regions including the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Over 300 exhibitors participated in the event, with over 260 special buyers invited to the exhibition.

The online exhibition featured an interactive displaying platform that allows the organizers, exhibitors and buyers to coordinate through livestream, cloud photos, VR and other technologies, providing guests with new experience of online participation.

The event covers a variety of sectors in the cultural tourism industry, namely smart tourism, cultural heritage tourism, cultural tourism consumption and so on. More than ten supplementary activities were also held during the exhibition, including multiple forums and round table discussions featuring topics such as tourism industry recovery, supporting rural revitalization with cultural tourism, integrated development of meteorological and cultural tourism industries, among others.
