More than 10.4464 million cross-border e-commerce packages worth over 2.07 billion yuan have been exported via the Alashankou port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the first three quarters of 2022, increasing by 3.8 times year on year.

This year, Alashankou City got approval to establish comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, which is to integrate projects and services such as logistics, warehouse storage, bonded area, bulk commodities trade and supply chain, and is expected to boost the port's high-quality development.

In recent years, the port has implemented three new ways of supervision on cross-border e-commerce exports, including cross-border e-commerce Business-to-Consumer (B2C) direct export, cross-border e-commerce Business-to-Business (B2B) direct export, cross-border e-commerce export via overseas warehouses, said Zhang Cancan, deputy director of operation of Alashankou State-owned Assets Investment Management (Group) Co. LTD.

Zhang noted that another new way of supervision is going to be launched at the port as well on cross-border e-commerce traded in bonded area, also known as "storage mode", which is suitable for domestic consumers to obtain cross-border goods that have stocked in domestic bonded warehouses.

At present, more than 508,000 domestic cross-border e-commerce enterprises have conducted business via the port to effectively promote the business exchanges with countries along the Belt and Road.
