By:Belt and Road Portal   Update:2023-08-04
A cargo plane arrived at the Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport on Wednesday evening, marking the launch of the air cargo route linking Manila, the Philippines' capital, with Zhengzhou, the capital city of central China's Henan Province, reported Chinanews.com.

The cargo service uses a Boeing 737-800 aircraft and runs three times a week initially which will be gradually increased to six weekly flights in September.

Imports from Philippines were mainly fresh food like ricefield eel, durian, and ice fresh fish, while exports were composed mostly of e-commerce goods.

As a major airport logistics hub in China, the airport in Zhengzhou has already opened multiple international cargo routes in 2023 linking the city and Belgium's Liege, Hungary's Budapest, and Seoul in the Republic of Korea (ROK).

In the future, more international cargo airlines will be launched with business scale expanded, aiming to promote high-quality development of Zhengzhou as an airhub in China, according to Henan Airport Group, the operator of Zhengzhou Airport.
