Myanmar's Yangon to hold investment forum

YANGON, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's commercial city Yangon will soon host an investment forum, aimed at boosting foreign investment in the region, media release said here on Wednesday.

The investment forum will be held under the theme "Yangon Region: Investment Hub in Myanmar" on May 9.

According to the media release, the information about Myanmar's investment framework, the New Myanmar Investment Law, taxation and other relevant issues will be provided at the forum.

Also, corporate leaders will exchange perspectives and experiences in key growth sectors, such as Industrial Estate, Power & Energy, Logistics, Hotel & Tourism, and Textile & Garments manufacturing.

Since FY 1988-1989, a total of 20.2 billion U.S. dollars of investment from 845 foreign enterprises have entered the country's Yangon region, a home to 30 industrial zones including the largest industrial zone in Hlaing Tharywar township and Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
