Cambodia attracts 5.2 bln USD fixed asset investment in 2017

PHNOM PENH, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia had received the fixed asset investment of 5.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, according to the report of the Council for the Development of Cambodia on Wednesday.

The report provided to Xinhua showed that last year, the Southeast Asian nation had granted licenses to 117 investment projects in the fields of agriculture, agro-industry, manufacturing industries, tourism, telecommunication and transportation.

Cambodian investors topped the chart among all investors in Cambodia last year with fixed asset investment of 3.1 billion U.S. dollars, followed by China with 1.43 billion U.S. dollars and Singapore with 252 million U.S. dollars, it said.

Chinese investment accounted for 27 percent of the total fixed asset investments in Cambodia last year, the report said.

It added that other countries investing in Cambodia last year are South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Britain, the Netherlands, India and Japan.
