China and Laos signed a memorandum of understanding on e-commerce cooperation

On November 29, during the visit of Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Lao president, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Laos Malaithong Kommasith signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Lao People's Democratic Republic on E-commerce Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the MOU).
 
According to the MOU, the two sides will establish an e-commerce cooperation mechanism, carry out policy exchanges and experience sharing, promote capacity building and local cooperation, support business cooperation, promote trade in quality products through e-commerce, strengthen cooperation in logistics, mobile payment and other areas, and elevate economic and trade ties between the two countries to a higher level.
