Prices of Farm Produce and Prices of Production Means Increased Slightly

According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the market price index of edible agricultural products and means of production increased 0.2% over the previous week (August 8-14).

The average price of 30 kinds of vegetables increased 0.3% over the previous week, with the prices of celery, green Chinese onion and cabbage up 7.4%, 5% and 4.8% respectively. The price of meat fluctuated, with the prices of pork and beef up 0.4% and 0.2% over the previous week respectively and that of mutton down 0.2%. The prices of poultry and eggs fluctuated, with the prices of eggs and duck up 1.4% and 0.1% over=the previous week and that of chicken down 0.3%. The price of grain food remained stable, with the price of rice down 0.2% over the previous week and that of flour up 0.3%. The price of edible oil remained stable, with the prices of soybean, rapeseed and peanut oil staying the same as those of the previous week. The average price of aquatic products went down 0.1% over the previous week, with the prices of chub, big hairtail and grass carp down 1.4%, 1.2% and 1.2% respectively.

The price of steel went up 1.1% over the previous week, maintaining a recovery for a consecutive three weeks, with the prices of box iron, hot rolled strip and deformed steel bar up 1.3%, 1.3% and 1.2% over the previous week. The price of non-ferrous metal increased 0.2%, with those of tin, zinc, aluminum and lead up sss3.4%, 1.1%, 0.9% and 0.1% respectively, and those of copper and nickel down 0.7% and 0.3% respectively. The price of rubber increased 0.2%, with those of natural rubber and synthetic rubber up 0.2% and 0.1% respectively. The price of coal remained stable; with those of blind coal and the steam coal the same as the previous week, and that of coking coal up 0.2%. The price of chemical fertilizer went down 0.5%, with the that of urea down 0.6% and those of KIC, DAP and NPK down 0.4% respectively. The prices of basic chemical raw materials decreased 0.7%, with those of sulfuric acid, methyl alcohol and sodium carbonate down 1.4%, 0.9% and 0.1% respectively, that of caustic soda up 0.4% and that of pure benzene the same as the previous week.
