Yunnan's trade with South and Southeast Asia soars 42% in 9 years

Yunnan Province, in southwest China, has seen its trade with South and Southeast Asian countries grow rapidly over the past nine years. Imports and exports between Yunnan and countries in South and Southeast Asia reached 125.78 billion yuan (about $17.49 billion) in 2023, up 41.9 percent from 88.66 billion yuan in 2015.

The annual growth rate averaged 4.5 percent over the nine-year period, with the trade volume remaining above 100 billion yuan for five consecutive years.
